Most Unusual. By Luis Cuauhtémoc Berriozábal

Tenderness
like feathers,
a pigeon walks
the streets blind to
traffic, not knowing
every step could be
its last. Coffee drinkers
stay away from the rain.
A homeless man walks outside
chasing after a rat in the
most unusual way, naked.
Stuck in this world, the naked man
and his shadow, starts dancing,
full moon,
going down as the sun rises. The rat
got away and the homeless man
stops chase.

He turns his focus on a dead pigeon.

Luis was born in Mexico, lives in California, and works in the mental health
field in Los Angeles, CA. His poems have appeared in Ariel Chart, Beatnik Cowboy,

Dope Fiend Daily, Unlikely Stories, and Zygote In My Coffee.
